Love Story (1970) is a sentimental, romantic tearjerker film from director Arthur Hiller about a tragic couple. The melodramatic soap-opera, tremendously popular and a financial success (the top-earning film of the year) but panned by critics for its sappy content, was based upon Erich Segal’s best-selling short novel of the same name. The film’s tagline, “Love means never having to say you’re sorry,” appeared slightly differently in Segal’s novelization: “Love means not ever having to say you’re sorry.” An inferior sequel was produced later in the decade – Oliver’s Story (1978) pairing a still-grieving Ryan O’Neal with Candice Bergen.
The catchy, haunting, piano-plinking score won the Best Original Score Oscar (the film’s sole award) for Francis Lai from its seven Academy Awards nominations: Best Picture, Best Actor (Ryan O’Neal), Best Supporting Actor (John Marley), Best Actress (Ali MacGraw), Best Director (Arthur Hiller), and Best Original Story and Screenplay (Erich Segal).
Told as a flashback, this is an uncomplicated love story between two star-crossed lovers-students, Harvard pre-law hockey player Oliver Barrett IV (Ryan O’Neal) and Radcliffe music student Jenny Cavilleri (Ali MacGraw). Oliver narrates the opening line of the film, looking back: What can you say about a twenty-five-year-old girl who died? That she was beautiful and brilliant? That she loved Mozart and Bach, the Beatles, and me?

Their love triumphs over different economic-class backgrounds (he is a “preppie millionaire,” she a smart-mouthed “social zero” from a blue-collar Italian/American family). Their main obstacle to romance is that his rich, powerful and snobbish father, Oliver Barrett III (Ray Milland) objects and threatens to cut off funding: “Oliver, if you marry her now, I’ll not give you the time of day.” To which the younger, bull-headed Oliver defiantly asks: “What offends you more, Father, that she’s Catholic, or poor?” He ultimately responds: “Father, you don’t know the time of day.” The two young lovers marry anyway and first move into a small apartment in Cambridge before Oliver is hired by a New York law firm and they move to the city.
The film’s two most touching and remembered scenes are their prolonged kissing scene and the montage of the couple tossing snowballs at each other. After meeting many obstacles and making sacrifices, she is diagnosed as terminally ill when she is tested for pregnancy, and dies in his arms at the hospital in a tear-inducing closing. She makes a last request of him: “You, after all – you’re going to be a merry widower.” “I won’t be merry,” he responds. She replies: “Yes, you will be. I want you to be merry. You’ll be merry, okay?”
In the final scene, Oliver quotes his late wife, when speaking to his father about their past misunderstandings. After his father tells him he’s sorry that she has died, Oliver responds in the last memorable line of the film, quoting an earlier remark of Jenny’s:
Love means never having to say you’re sorry.
He then walks out into a snowy Central Park to contemplate what life might have been in a touching finale, as the award-winning musical score builds in the background.

Sir Isaac Newton, 4 January 1643 – 31 March 1727 OS: 25 December 1642 – 20 March 1727 was an English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural philosopher, alchemist, and theologian and one of the most influential men in human history.

Newton His Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica, published in 1687, is considered to be among the most influential books in the history of science, laying the groundwork for most of classical mechanics. In this work, Newton described universal gravitation and the three laws of motion which dominated the scientific view of the physical universe for the next three centuries.

Newton showed that the motions of objects on Earth and of celestial bodies are governed by the same set of natural laws by demonstrating the consistency between Kepler's laws of planetary motion and his theory of gravitation, thus removing the last doubts about heliocentrism and advancing the scientific revolution.
In mechanics, Newton enunciated the principles of conservation of both momentum and angular momentum. In optics, he built the first practical reflecting telescope and developed a theory of colour based on the observation that a prism decomposes white light into the many colours which form the visible spectrum. He also formulated an empirical law of cooling and studied the speed of sound.

In mathematics, Newton shares the credit with Gottfried Leibniz for the development of the differential and integral calculus. He also demonstrated the generalised binomial theorem, developed the so-called "Newton's method" for approximating the zeroes of a function, and contributed to the study of power series.

Newton's stature among scientists remains at the very top rank, as demonstrated by a 2005 survey of scientists in Britain's Royal Society asking who had the greater effect on the history of science, Newton or Albert Einstein. Newton was deemed the more influential.

Newton was also highly religious (though unorthodox), producing more work on Biblical hermeneutics than the natural science he is remembered for today.

Once upon a time, in a field not too far from you, there was an energetic and happy hare and a sleepy tortoise.

The happy hare was called Noel and the sleepy tortoise was called Archibald. Archibald the tortoise liked to sit and munch his dinner slowly, whilst Noel the hare would gobble up his dinner and run round and round Archibald until he was dizzy.

One day, they had an argument.

‘I am the fastest animal in the whole wide world,’ said Noel. ‘I’m faster than a cheeky cheetah, a kicking kangaroo and a racing rabbit,’ he boasted.

‘Oh do be quiet,’ sighed Archibald. ‘You are so full of yourself! If you’re not careful you’ll come to a sticky end.’

‘Where’s sticky end then?’ asked Noel. ‘Is it far from here?’

Archibald rolled his eyes and carried on munching on some tasty lettuce leaves.

‘Oh, you two do stop arguing,’ said a blackbird as he flew past.

‘No, this is serious,’ said Noel the hare. ‘I will prove to you all that I’m the fastest animal in the whole wide world!’

‘Ok,’ said Archibald the tortoise. ‘I’ll race you then!’

Noel the hare laughed his head off.

‘Just you wait and see,’ said Archibald. ‘I’ll get Wallace the wise old owl to organise a race for us.’

Wallace the wise old owl arranged the race for the next day. All the animals in the field put on their best clothes, groomed their fur, picked up a flag to wave and got ready to cheer the tortoise and the hare on.

‘On your marks! Get set! Go!’ called Wallace. And the race was off!

Slowly, slowly, Archibald the tortoise set off and quickly, quickly Noel the hare raced off and soon he was out of sight. In fact, he was so far ahead that, when he looked back, Archibald the tortoise was nowhere to be seen.

‘Gosh,’ Noel thought. ‘I’ve more or less won all ready! I think I’ll just have a little nap under this tree, it’s such a hot day.’ Noel the hare was soon fast asleep.

Meanwhile, Archibald the tortoise ambled along slowly, enjoying the sun on his shell. On and on and on and on and on he plodded and taking the odd nibble of grass from time to time. He plodded past the oak tree, he plodded past the bridge, he plodded past the cow shed, he even plodded past Noel the hare who was still snoring under the tree. Archibald plodded on until he came to the finishing line where Wallace the wise old owl and all the other animals in the field were gathered.

All the animals clustered around Archibald cheering and shouting.

‘Well done! Well done! You’re the winner!’

All the noise woke Noel the hare up with a start.

‘Oh my! Oh my! What’s going on? What’s all the noise? Never mind. I’d better finish the race then I can go and have my dinner,’ he thought.

Noel the hare raced off down the hill towards the finishing line. But when he got there, to his horror, he saw Archibald the tortoise with a gold winner’s medal around his neck.

‘This can’t be right! He must have cheated,’ cried Noel the hare. ‘Everyone knows I’m faster than him!’

‘Archibald the tortoise didn’t cheat,’ said Wallace the wise old owl. ‘He has won fair and square. Slowly and surely, never giving up, Archibald passed the finishing line first.’

Noel the hare looked very unhappy and sulky. Archibald the tortoise felt sorry for him and tried to cheer him up.

‘Cheer up Noel, it was only a race,’ Archibald said. ‘I’m sure you’ll win the next one. And I’d rather we were still friends than win every race under the sun.’

And from that day on, they became the best of friends and Noel the hare never boasted again.

How to Make Kunefe? Ingredients for

250 grams of wire kadayif

150 g unsalted künefe cheese

4 tablespoons of butter

1 teaspoon molasses

For the syrup:

2 glasses of water

2 cups granulated sugar

1 teaspoon of lemon juice

For the above;

Powdered Pistachios

Milk cream or ice cream (optional)

First, the sherbet range of künefe. For sherbet, water and sugar are left to go for a walk. (It is collected from time to time so that the syrup can hold its base.)

When the syrup starts to progress, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice is added to cut the sugar and boiled for another 10-15 minutes and the syrup is left to cool.

For künefe, subtraction is left to be deleted.

The melted ones are kept aside.

Once the butter is frozen, the juice from its top will use that juice.

It is formed by adding molasses from 1 tea leaves to the slightly frozen pieces, so that it reaches the consistency of pudding.

If there are no künefe containers, the bottom of the aluminum or Teflon pan is lubricated with this molasses oil mixture.

Kadayif is divided by linting wire by wire.

Then, a 1 cm certificate is cut with a knife and divided into two parts.

A piece of the kadayif we have separated is laid on the end of the greased tray so that there is no space between them.

Grated cheese is spread on the kadayif.

The other kadayif is covered in such a way that there is no space on the cheese.

The edges can be smoothed and pressed on with another tray bottom or with your hand.

Be careful not to leave any gaps by pressing firmly.

It can be operated by turning the tray on the operation as soon as possible.

When you are sure that the gold is completely browned, the tray is placed upside down on a plate or tray and the inside of the second tray is also oiled so that the other side is cooked.

It is placed on the künefe tray with the fried part on top and the bottom is fried. Thus, both sides result.

Sherbet is poured on top of it. Served with pistachios or milk cream. Enjoy your meal.

Şerbeti için:

2 su bardağı su

2 su bardağı toz şeker

1 çay kaşığı limon suyu

Üzeri için;

Toz Antep fıstığı

Süt kaymağı veya dondurma (isteğe bağlı)

İlk olarak künefenin şerbeti aralığı. Şerbet için, su ve şeker bir boyu yürüyüşe çıkmaya bırakılır. (Şerbetin tabanını tutması için ara ara toplanır.)

Şerbeti ilerletmeye başlayınca şekerin kesilmesi için 1 çay kaşığı limon suyu eklenip 10-15 dakika kadar daha kaynatılır ve şerbet soğumaya bırakılır.

Künefe için, çıkarma silinmeye bırakılır.

Eriyenler bir kenara alınır bekletilir.

Tereyağı donduktan sonra, üst kısmının suyu bu suyu kullanacaktır.

Hafif donmuş olan parçalarına 1 çay yaprakları pekmezi eklenerek muhallebi kıvamına gelecek şekilde oluşuyor.

Varsa künefe kapları yoksa alüminyum veya teflon tavanın altı bu pekmezli yağ karışımı ile yağlanır.

Kadayıf tel tel tiftiklenerek bölünür.

Ardından bıçakla 1 cm sertifikası kesilerek iki parçaya bölünür.

Ayırdığımız kadayıfın bir parçası yağlanmış tepsinin ucundaki aralarda boşluk kalmayacak şekilde serilir.

Rendelenmiş peynirler kadayıfın üzerine sürülür.

Diğer kadayıf da peynirin üzerinde boşluk kalmayacak şekilde kapatılır.

Liesel Meminger is a little girl lost when she arrives at a strange house on Himmel Street, feeling confused and alienated by a war she doesn’t understand. Her new foster parents, Hans and Rosa Hubermann, soon make her feel at home, although Hans’ gentle character is in stark contrast to his wife’s brusque embrace of motherhood.
Liesel befriends a boy who lives along the street, Rudy Steiner, and the two become inseparable. Important events such as Hitler’s birthday, book burning ceremonies and the horrors and destruction of the war unfolding in Europe’s fields and skies, are wound around day-to-day life for Liesel, Rudy and the other residents of Himmel Street.

Liesel struggles at first to read and write, but with Hans’ soft coaxing and dedicated coaching she is captivated by the world of words. Slowly but surely, Liesel begins to link the incredible power of words to the way Hitler is controlling and slowly destroying her homeland. Books become Liesel’s lifeline, and she finds solace in words when she befriends the Mayor’s wife, who lets her read in their well-stocked library. Each of the books that come into Liesel’s life has a special significance; she treasures links to her past and the comforting daily reading lessons with Hans.
As Liesel tries to come to terms with the significance of Hitler’s rule, the Hubermanns’ daily cycle of survival is jeopardised when a Jewish refugee, Max, begs a hiding place in their basement. The family struggle to keep their dangerous secret safe, and to keep Max alive in the achingly cold cellar. Liesel’s friendship with Max slowly grows, and through their shared love of words he becomes a brother figure to her. She’s devastated when Max has to leave; it’s no longer safe for him to stay. Soon afterwards he is captured and marched along Himmel Street to the nearby concentration camp, to Liesel’s despair.
As the war rips the country apart, and Allied bombs fall perilously close to Himmel Street, Liesel realises that words alone will never be enough to save the people she loves. But perhaps they can shine a brighter light on the beauty of human tenderness and compassion that still resist the hatred inflicted by Hitler and war.
The Book Thief is about growing up in Nazi Germany. But it’s also about hope, love, family, rebelliousness, guilt, the human spirit and the beauty that tragedy can bring.

What Fashion Designers Do

Fashion designers create original clothing, accessories, and footwear. They sketch designs, select fabrics and patterns, and give instructions on how to make the products they designed.
Duties
Fashion designers typically do the following:
Study fashion trends and anticipate designs that will appeal to consumers
Decide on a theme for a collection
Sketch designs of clothing, footwear, and accessories
Use computer-aided design programs (CAD) to create designs
Visit manufacturers or trade shows to get fabric samples
Select fabrics, embellishments, colors, or style for each garment or accessory
Work with other designers or team members to create a prototype design
Present design ideas to the creative director or showcase them in fashion or trade shows

Larger apparel companies typically employ a team of designers headed by a creative designer. Some fashion designers specialize in clothing, footwear, or accessory design, but others create designs in all three fashion categories.

For some fashion designers, the first step in creating a new design is researching current fashion and making predictions of future trends, using trend reports published by fashion industry trade groups. Other fashion designers create collections from inspirations they get from their regular surroundings, from the cultures they have experienced and places they have visited, or from various art media that inspire them 
After they have an initial idea, fashion designers try out various fabrics and produce a prototype, often with less expensive material than will be used in the final product. They work with models to see how the design will look and adjust the designs as needed.
Although most designers first sketch their designs by hand, many now put their sketches online with computer-aided design (CAD) programs. CAD allows designers to see their work on virtual models. They can try out different colors, design, and shapes while making adjustments more easily than they can when working with real fabric on real people.
The designers produce samples with the actual materials that will be used in manufacturing. Samples that get good responses from editors or trade and fashion shows are then manufactured and sold to consumers.
Although the design process may vary by specialty, in general, it takes 6 months from initial design concept to final production, when either the spring or fall collection is released. Some companies may release new designs as frequently as every month, in addition to releases during the spring and fall.
The Internet and e-commerce allow fashion designers to offer their products outside of the traditional brick-and-mortar stores. Instead, they can ship directly to the consumer, without having to invest in a physical place to showcase their products lines.
The following are examples of types of fashion designers:
Clothing designers create and help produce men's, women's, and children's apparel, including casual wear, suits, sportswear, evening wear, outerwear, maternity, and intimate apparel.
Footwear designers create and help produce different styles of shoes and boots. As new materials become available, such as lightweight synthetic materials used in shoe soles, footwear designers produce new designs that combine comfort, form, and function.
Accessory designers design and produce items such as handbags, suitcases, belts, scarves, hats, hosiery, and eyewear.
costume designers are responsible for designing costumes for the performing arts and for motion picture and television productions. They research the styles worn during the period in which the performance takes place, or they work with directors to select and create appropriate attire. They also must stay within the costume budget for the particular production.

Introduction of Istanbul Maiden's Tower- Kız Kulesi

Istanbul's city pictures almost always include "Kiz Kulesi". "Kiz Kulesi" is called in English Maiden's Tower or Leander's Tower. The Maiden's Tower is located on a small islet at a very short distance from the shores of the district "Uskudar" in the Asian side of the city. It can be seen from Topkapi Palace, Dolmabahçe Palace, Ortakoy distric and many other interesting places of Istanbul.

According to a Turkish legend a princess was locked up in the tower by her father because of a prophecy. The prophecy alerted him saying that his daughter would die by the bite of a snake. The father wanted to protect the princess and put her in the Maiden's tower. Unfortunately at the end of the story, the princess dies by the snake that was brought to the islet in a basket of grapes.

The Leander's Tower is the other name you will come across for the same place. There is a legend which has taken place in the city of Abydos in the straight of Dardanelles but somehow mistakenly related to the Maiden's Tower. Leander tried to see his lover Hero and attempted to cross the straight and drowns.

In the 12th century, the emperor Manuel Comnenus has built a small fortress where the tower is located. He wanted to tie a chain to close the Bosphorus straight. The other end of the chain was tied to Tower of Mangana.-

Until today the tower is used as a lighthouse, semaphore station, quarantine, customs control area, and home for retired naval officers. The building that you can see today dates back to 18th century.

Black Sea
Black Sea (Karadeniz in Turkish) lies to the north of Turkey, bordering with two regions; Marmara and Black Sea. Besides Turkey, other countries that circle the Black Sea are; Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, and Georgia. It’s connected to the Sea of Marmara with the Bosphorus Strait in the southwest. Some of the important ports on the Black Sea are; Istanbul, Trabzon, Samsun, Sinop, Burgas, Varna, Constanza, Yalta, Odessa, Sevastopol, Kerch, Novorossiysk, Sochi, Sukhumi, Poti, and Batumi.
Black Sea is an inland sea covering an area of about 420 thousand square kilometers reaching at 2206 meters in its deepest point. Below 200 meters the oxygen level in the water is very low so marine life is very limited below this depth. Most known fish they catch in the Black Sea are; Black Sea turbot, gurnard, and small sharks.
Its waters are warm in the summer, very cold in the winter. Its salinity is around 0,18% because of a constant inflow of fresh water from rivers surrounding it, the excess water flows on the surface through the Bosphorus meanwhile the warm and salty waters of the Mediterranean reach the Black Sea with deep water currents, maintaining the stratification and salinity levels. The most important rivers flowing into the Black Sea are Danube from north east, Kizilirmak, Sakarya and Yesilirmak from Anatolia in the south.
Black Sea is one of the youngest seas on the Earth, its used to be a big fresh water lake some 8000 years ago. The name is probably derived from the color of its deep waters.


Sea of Marmara
Sea of Marmara (Marmara Denizi in Turkish) is an inland sea within the Marmara region connecting to the Black Sea with the Bosphorus Strait in the northeast, and to the Aegean with the Dardanelles Strait in the southwest. It lies between Thrace and Anatolia parts of Turkey, covering an area of over 11thousand square kilometers. It is approximately 280 km long from northeast to southwest and about 80 km wide at its greatest width. Its maximum depth reaches 1355 meters near the center.
There are many marble sources on its islands which gave its name to the Sea; marble is Marmaros in Greek and Mermer in Turkish. Some of the main islands in the Sea of Marmara are; Avsa, Marmara, Imrali, and Princes Islands near Istanbul (Buyukada, Heybeli, Burgaz, Kinali, and Sedef).
The salinity level is little bit over that of the Black Sea, but much less than the oceans. However, sea-bottom waters are much more saline almost as of the Mediterranean, but like in the Black Sea these two layers do not get combined.


Aegean Sea
Aegean Sea (Ege Denizi in Turkish) is a part of Mediterranean Sea lying between Turkey and Greece. There is Mediterranean Sea to the south, Greek Peninsula to the west, Anatolia and part of Thrace to the east. It’s connected to the Sea of Marmara by Dardanelles Strait to the northeast. It covers an area of 214thousand square kilometers, stretching for about 660 kilometers from north to south, and reaching at a maximum depth of 3543 meters. Tides are very limited in the Aegean Sea.
Aegean Sea gave its name to the Aegean region and shows a typical Mediterranean climate characteristics; summers are dry and winters are rainy but not much cold. The water temperature during summer months reaches 23-24 degrees Celsius, and usually northern part of the Sea is a little bit cooler than its southern part. In contrary, northern part is abundant about the fish than its southern part.
There were many ancient civilizations who settled on its shores in the past, such as Minoans, Mycenaean, Trojans, Persians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, Ottomans and so on. It’s said that its name is coming either from Aegea, an Amazonian queen who died in the sea, or from Aegeus, the father of Theseus, who drowned himself in the sea.
There are approximately 3000 big and small islands in the Aegean Sea, most of them belong to Greece today. Some of the most famous Greek islands in the Aegean are; Crete, Rhodes, Lesbos, Chios, Santorini, Mykonos, Patmos, Delos, Paros, Kos, Symi, Samos and so on. Turkey has very few small islands and only two mid-size islands in front of the Dardanelles; Bozcaada and Gokceada. Because of this high concentration of islands and rockies, there are also many gulfs and bays in the Aegean which attracts many people for sailing in this crystal clear waters.
Aegean Sea and some of the Aegean islands brought several controversial issues between Turkey and Greece, both NATO countries, regarding mostly sovereignty and related rights in the area. Relations between Turkey and Greece were very sour between 1970′s and mid 1990′s because of these disputes on territorial waters, national airspace and FIR lines, military flights, demilitarization of some of the islands, and islets that had an unknown status of sovereignty. But in the last 10 years both countries are working hard to improve bilateral relations reducing tensions and holding diplomatic lines always open.


Mediterranean Sea
Mediterranean Sea (Akdeniz in Turkish) is surrounded by Asia to the east, Europe to the north and Africa to the south. It’s connected to the Atlantic Ocean to the west with Gibraltar Strait. It’s also connected to the Red Sea in the southeast with the Suez Canal in Egypt, a man-made canal built in 1869. And to the east it’s connected to the Sea of Marmara by Dardanelles Strait. Aegean and Marmara Seas are often considered as a part of the Mediterranean Sea. The sea gave also its name to the Mediterranean region of Turkey.
Mediterranean covers about 2,5million square kilometers, its shores were home to many ancient civilizations in the history, such as Phoenicians, Egyptians, Carthaginians, Greeks, Lycians, Arabs, Persians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, Ottomans and so on. The name comes from Latin; Medi means middle, Terra means land or place. The Romans called it Mare Nostrum, Our Sea. In Turkish it’s called Akdeniz, White Sea.
There aren’t much tides in the Mediterranean because of its narrow connection with the Atlantic. The average depth is about 1500 meters and the deepest point reaches at 5267 meters. The coastline is approximately 46,000 kilometers long.
Countries that border with the Mediterranean are;
In Europe, from west to east; Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Albania, Greece, and European shores of Turkey.
In Asia, from north to south; Asian shores of Turkey, Syria, Cyprus, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, and Egypt.
In Africa, from east to west; Egypt, Libya, Tunis, Algeria, and Morocco.
Biggest islands in the Mediterranean are; Cyprus, Crete, Rhodes, Lesbos, Chios, Corfu in the eastern Mediterranean; Sardegna, Corsica, Sicily, Malta in the central Mediterranean; Ibiza, Majorca, Minorca in the western Mediterranean.

The Count of Monte Cristo centers around Edmond Dantes , who is imprisoned in a dungeon for fourteen years. Three men conspire against him. Danglars, jealous of Dantes being made ship captain, writes a letter which results in his arrest. Fernand, who is in love with Edmond’s fiancé Mercedes, conspires with Danglars to have Dantes accused of being a traitor. The royal prosecutor, Villefort, keeps the innocent Dantes detained in prison without trial for fear the truth will come out about his own father’s involvement with the Bonapartists.  
During his time in prison, Edmond dwells upon thoughts of revenge. From another prisoner, he learns of a fortune hidden on the deserted island of Monte Cristo. Dantes manages to escape and discovers the treasure. He returns to society as a wealthy man, the Count of Monte Cristo.
Edmond uses his unexpected freedom and newfound wealth as an opportunity to get revenge on his enemies, and plots to bring about their ruin. By crafty planning and the assuming of disguises, he insinuates himself into their now-prosperous lives. An evil presence masquerading as a friend, he brings up old secrets and creates havoc and financial ruin upon his betrayers.

  The Count of Monte Cristo poses the age-old question—is vengeance ever justified? While Monte Cristo sets out to destroy his enemies, he finds that their lives are intermingled with people he cares about and who he means no harm. Every act of vengeance causes a chain reaction that punishes not only the guilty but the innocent.
  By revenging himself upon Fernand, which results in his suicide, he brings disgrace to Fernand’s son, Albert, who he has grown to like. He also brings misery to Mercedes, the woman he still loves.
Dantes uses the weakness and greed of Villefort’s wife to cause the destruction of the Villefort family. Using poison she learned about from Dantes, she becomes a murderess and Villefort is driven to madness. Villefort’s innocent daughter from his first marriage, Valentine, who is in love with the son of Dante’s good friend, barely escapes being fatally poisoned as a result of Dante’s desire for vengeance.
After financially ruining Danglars, Dantes shows mercy by sparing his life. In the end, the Count learns that vengeance comes with a heavy price, and, freed at last from of his desire for revenge, he begins a new life.

Mondays, I have Geography, Maths, Chemistry and History. I love History and Geography but I
don’t like Maths and Chemistry. Especially I hate Chemistry. My favourite subject is Information
and Communications Technology. I have no high marks. I’m a bit lazy. My teachers are always
angry with me. We have really much fun at school. I don’t like homework. After school we usually
go to a shop or a café. But I need to study for the university exam. When I arrive home I’m a deadbeat! So, I don’t do my homework. I rest some time while listening to music. I chat with my friends on the Internet.
