Cinderella Tale Cinderella ingilizce masal

Cinderella

A traditional French tale

Once upon a time there was a girl called Cinderella. She was called Cinderella because every morning and every night she had to clean the cinders from the fireplace.

Cinderella lived with her stepmother and two stepsisters. Her stepmother and stepsisters wore pretty dresses made of silk and velvet. Cinderella had no pretty dresses. She had to wear old rags.

Cinderella was a thoughtful and kind-hearted girl. Her two stepsisters were mean and nasty, but they believed themselves to be beautiful inside and out. Their mother believed this too, but to her Cinderella was ugly.

Cinderella's stepmother was not kind at all. She was always shouting at Cinderella, 'Do this! Do that! Faster! Faster! Work! Work! Work!'

Cinderella's stepsisters were very lazy. 'Wash the dishes! Sweep the floor!', they would shout at her.

And so every day Cinderella was in the kitchen working from morning until night. She wasn't completely alone, though. In the kitchen she had six little mouse friends. They lived in a hole under the floor. They sang squeaky little mouse songs to Cinderella when she was tired or sad.

One day an invitation arrived for Cinderella and her two stepsisters. They had been invited to a ball by the king and queen of the country! Their son, the prince, was looking for a wife. He was having trouble finding the right person, and so his parents had decided to invite all the girls in the country to the palace.

Cinderella and her stepsisters were delighted to be invited. Cinderella smiled and her sisters jumped up and down with joy. But Cinderella's stepmother could only frown.

'I hope you don't think you're going to the ball!' she said to Cinderella. 'It's no place for a girl like you. I need you here to clean the windows.'

On the evening of the ball, Cinderella felt sad and lonely when everyone left without her.

As Cinderella stood sighing in the kitchen, her six little mouse friends appeared. They sang their happiest song to try to cheer her up.

Cinderella

Please don't fear

Your mousey friends

Are always near

A tear rolled down Cinderella's cheek. The mice began to think that there was no possible way to cheer her up. But then suddenly...pouf! A lady appeared. She was all dressed in white and carrying a magic wand.

'Don't worry, Cinderella. I am your fairy godmother and you shall go to the ball!'

First of all she touched Cinderella with her magic wand. In the blink of an eye, Cinderella's rags had disappeared and instead she was wearing a beautiful gown made of silk. It was the colour of the sky on a sunny day.

Next the fairy godmother noticed a large pumpkin on the kitchen worktop. She took it outside and touched it with her magic wand. It grew and grew and grew until it became an elegant carriage.

'And now we need some horses!' said the fairy godmother. One by one, she touched each of the mice with her magic wand. Suddenly, there were six beautiful horses ready to pull the carriage to the palace.

'Now you can go to the ball! But be careful, because at midnight the magic spell will end. You will be back in your rags with a pumpkin and six mice. Please be home by then.'

Cinderella looked down at her bare feet.

'Oh! I forgot about your shoes. I'll need to use a different spell for them since I’m making them out of thin air. But you'll be able to keep them forever! There you are, a pair of glass slippers.'

Cinderella was delighted to be out of the house. She had never been in a horse-drawn carriage before. She was very happy to be sharing it with her mouse friends, even though they were now horses and so could not sing to her.

At the palace, the prince stepped outside for some fresh air. He saw Cinderella arriving and watched as she spoke quietly to her horses.

'Don’t worry,' she said. 'I'll be back before you know it! I won't let you turn back into mice so far away from home.'

'Adorable!' the prince thought. 'What a kind girl this must be, to care so much about her horses. I wonder if she'd agree to dance with me!'

Cinderella walked up the steps to the palace door and the prince walked in with her. They danced and talked all night.

Before she knew it, Cinderella heard the first chimes of midnight from the palace clock. She ran for the door, leaving the prince terribly sad.

The prince ran after her and stood on the palace steps trying in vain to see which way she had gone. He noticed something glistening in the moonlight. It was one of Cinderella's glass slippers!

The prince had a brainwave. He would use the glass slipper to find her.

The prince visited every house in the land to find the girl whose foot would fit in the glass slipper. He was starting to lose all hope when he arrived at Cinderella's house.

Cinderella's stepsisters tried and tried to get their feet into the slipper but it was no use. Their feet were just too big!

'Where is your other daughter?' the prince asked Cinderella's stepmother.

'Oh, you wouldn't be interested in her!' the stepsisters sneered.

Just then, Cinderella came out of the kitchen. The prince recognised her immediately, even though she was wearing rags and had bare feet. Of course, the glass slipper fit her perfectly.

Cinderella and the prince were delighted to be reunited. They decided to get married; lots of people came to the wedding and it was a wonderful day.

Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters were invited but they chose not to go. Instead, they stayed at home and sulked.

And the prince and Cinderella lived happily ever after.

Yahya Kemal Beyatlı ingilizce Hayatı

Yahya Kemal Beyatlı ingilizce Hayatı

Yahya Kemal who is one of the most powerful poets of today was born in 1884 in Uskup He died in Istanbul in1958 He never forgot the glorious periods of Ottoman empire and his longing for Balkans He went to Paris in his youth and entered Political Sciences school He turned back to Istanbul nine years later and worked as Warsaw Madrid Karasi ambassador He was elected as deputy from Tekirdağ and Istanbul He could not publish his poems when he was alive His books were published after his death His real name is Agah Since he was from the grandsons of Sehsuvar Pasha he took the surname Beyatlı Yahya Kemal who went to Paris in 1903 thus saved himself from being influenced by Abdulhak Hamit and Tevfik Fikret who greatly influenced
-Turkish poetry before him-
However that Albert Sorel who taught European History in the Political Sciences Faculty he attended nearly did not talk about Ottomans at all harmed his national pride So Yahya Kemal studying Rising Period of his history became an Istanbul poet at last Yahya Kemal’s first poems were published under the name Bulunmuş Sayfalar after 1912 but he did it very rare The date of publication of his Açık Deniz poem he wrote in Paris in 1912 is 1925 The reason why he did so is his fastidiousness and his habits he obtained from French poets he saw.
Since he weighed vocal structure of words and prosody harmony in poetry he constantly changed his lines However he started to publish poems frequently in the last fifteen years of his life Yahya Kemal who was brought up with a good cultural education worked for a University between 1915 and 1923 in Istanbul and taught “Western Literature History” and “Civilization History” lessons
The great poet who attended Losan Peace Delegation in 1922 as consultant was elected as Urfa deputy for Second Turkish Parliament in 1923 and became our Warsaw ambassador in 1926 and Madrit in 1929 Then he attended Turkish Parliament again as a deputy and remained as a deputy until seventh election period Beyatli taught Western Literature fo a period of time in the University But since he was not prepared for that kind of education he could not continue Rather he transferred his knowledge and emotions to others His famous Emirgan conversations lasted for years
Although he has prose writings articles and conversations except for his poems his real personality is determined by poetry His books comprise three groups: Lyric poems and similar poems he wrote under influence of old poetry real Istanbul poems and simple poems in which metaphysic or philosophical issues such as death and post-death were the topic His historical taste revealed itself especially in Istanbul poems and his historical knowledge was deepened on Istanbul’s conquest

Yahya Kemal Beyatlı was an artist confident in himself He did not like other artists easily He was happy for having fans of him around him He liked reading poems with a certain melody whether or not it was appropriate for that individual poem He was cheerful and was full of imaginary fears He ceased his relations with his family completely One sentence he uttered in Ataturk’s presence during dinner is reputed:
Atatürk asked:
- Yahya Kemal Bey What did you like in Ankara most?
The new deputy replied:
- Turning back to Istanbul my Pasha
Melek Celal Sofu (painter) remembers that he could not marry Celile Hanim with whom he fell in love in his youth deprived him of being able to set up a home for all of his lifetime and no woman could make him forget that love Many poems such as Erenköyü’nde Bahar and Geçmiş Yaz are consequences of this love
On the other hand we see that he wrote a advertisement poem consisting of two lines for Kavaklıdere Wine Factory in years he underwent financial troubles much:
Biz veda etmek üzereyiz kedere
Getir ahbap bir Kavaklıdere
Yahya Kemal had more of a power of turning a simple sentence into a poem He turned Suleyman Nazif’s sentence about İbnü’l Emin Mahmud Kemal into a poem with addition of one more line as follows:
Ne kendi kimseye benzer ne kimse kendisine
Being the the original sentence he added
Hezâr gıbta o devr-i kadîm efendisine
Ne kendi kimseye benzer ne kimse kendisine
and turned it into a poem
The product of his literary life more than forty years is less than forty pieces of works But they are all distinguished and unique.

VAN GÖLÜNÜN TÜRKÇE İNGİLİZCE TANITIMI

In the times of ancient Greece it was known as Thospitis Lacus, or Arsissa Lacus, which is derived from the Urartian city of Van, or ancient Chauon. Lake Van (Van Golu in Turkish) is the largest lake in Turkey and the second largest in the Middle East. It’s also the biggest sodium water lake in the world. The lake lies on the high grounds of Eastern Anatolian region near the border with Iran. It was formed by a crater caused by a volcanic explosion of Nemrud mount (last eruption in 1440 AD) near the province of Van. It covers an area of 1,434 square miles (3,713 square km) and is more than 74 miles (119 km) across at its widest point. It’s elevation from the sea level is 1,646 meters, deepest point is 457 meters.

The water is not very suitable for drinking or irrigation because of its high salinity, and only limited species of fresh water fish (Darekh, a species of herring ) can live. The lake is fed by rainfall, melt water of ice, and small rivers. During winter months the lake has the lowest level, and rise after the spring with melting snow from surrounding mountains. The difference of level between summer and winter is about 20 inches (50 cm) per year, depending on the climate. The surrounding has the typical fauna of the region. For irrigation of the fields farmers usually use fresh water from streams feeding the lake. Pollution caused mainly by irregular drainage system of the surrounding cities and land erosion are the main threats for the lake.

Lake Van has a triangular shape and is divided into two sections; smaller and shallower northern tip, and the main body of water in the south. Northern shores are generally steep and full of cliffs and the southern shores are generally eroded plains. There are four small islands in the southern part of the lake: Akdamar, Carpanak, Adir and Kus islands. All of these islands were declared as archaeological sites in 1990. Especially Akdamar Island is a popular one amongst visitors because of a well preserved Armenian church of the Holy Cross from 10th century, it’s connected to the land by small

Keloğlan and the Magic Seal Keloğlan masalı ingilizce

Keloğlan and the Magic Seal

One day, Keloğlan was walking back from the marketplace after selling his crops to the people of the neighbouring village. He had earned three gold coins that day and was pleased with himself because now his mother would be able to buy food and clothing to last through the long winter. Suddenly, Keloğlan came across a group of men who were teasing a cat with a long stick. The cat looked very scared and was unable to escape.

Keloğlan walked up to the men and said in a kind voice: ‘Please stop teasing that poor cat. If you stop, I will give you a gold coin.’ The men agreed to put down the stick, and Keloğlan handed over a shiny gold coin. The cat was very grateful to the boy and walked by his side. He promised that if ever he was able to repay the boy’s kindness, he would jump at the chance. Keloğlan could not imagine how a cat might help him, but he agreed that the cat could join him. The two friends continued on their journey back to the boy’s home in the neighbouring village.

The boy and the cat walked for a few miles. Suddenly, they came across an old man and woman who were beating a dog because it had been barking too loudly. Keloğlan approached the couple and said in a kind voice: ‘Please stop beating that poor dog. If you stop, I will give you a gold coin.’ The old couple stopped beating the dog and took the gold coin from the boy. The dog was grateful to the boy for saving him, and he asked to join the boy on his journey. He promised that he would always be faithful and help whenever he could. Keloğlan could not imagine how a dog might help him, but he agreed that the dog could join them. The three friends continued on their journey home. Not long after this, Keloğlan and his new companions stumbled upon two woodcutters in the forest. They were trying to kill a snake with a sharp axe. Keloğlan walked up to the angry woodcutters and said in a kind voice:

‘Please do not kill that snake. If you leave the snake in peace, I will give you a gold coin.’

The woodcutters thought about Keloğlan’s proposition for a moment and then agreed to put down the axe. The boy handed over his last gold coin without thinking. He was happy to have saved the snake from certain death. The snake was grateful and slithered up to whisper in the boy’s ear. Thank you for saving my life. I am the son of the Snake Emperor, and you must come home with me so that my father might thank you in person for your kindness.’ Even though Keloğlan had no more gold coins to buy food, he was happy to have saved his three friends and agreed to go and see the Snake Emperor before returning home to his mother. When they arrived in the forest, the Snake Emperor was very grateful to Keloğlan for saving his son’s life.

‘I will give you anything that you ask of me,’ said the Snake Emperor to the boy.

It was then that the young snake whispered in the boy’s ear once more.

‘Ask my father for his magic seal, which he keeps under his tongue. With this seal, all of your wishes will come true. All you have to do is ask for something and it will be given to you.’ So, the boy asked the Snake Emperor for his magic seal, and the Snake Emperor replied: ‘You ask me for my most precious possession. However, you saved my son’s life and I will grant you what you ask.’ The Snake Emperor relinquished his magic seal. Keloğlan stuffed the seal into his pocket and returned home with his faithful cat and dog by his side. When Keloğlan’s mother learned that her son had given away all of their gold coins she was angry. However, the boy promised that he would make up for this loss by marrying the Emperor’s daughter and making a new life for his mother.

‘And how will you do that, my son? This cat and this dog will not help you do such a thing.’

It was then that Keloğlan told his mother all about the magic seal that would grant his every wish.

The very next day, Keloğlan set off with his faithful cat and dog to the palace to ask for the hand of the Emperor’s daughter. ‘I cannot allow my daughter to marry such a poor boy,’ said the Emperor, when Keloğlan asked to marry the beautiful princess. ‘If you wish to marry my daughter, you must first build a palace next to mine so that I know she will be well looked after. But I know that you will not build such a palace with the help of a cat and a dog.’ That night, Keloğlan held the seal under his tongue and wished that he had a palace of his own. Suddenly there was a blinding light in the night sky. When the light faded, there, at the edge of the forest, stood a magnificent palace gleaming beneath the light of the moon! It was the most magnificent palace the boy had ever seen. And it was his!

When the Emperor saw that the young boy had built a beautiful palace, he agreed to the marriage at once. So it was that Keloğlan and the princess married that very same day.

The mother moved in with her son and daughter and lived like a queen in her new home. The cat and the dog were also happy in their new life. The months passed and Keloğlan wished for nothing else as he was so happy with his new wife, whom he loved very much. He placed the magic seal in a room all of its own and never told the princess of its magical powers. Then one day, when Keloğlan was out at the marketplace, a crafty old bead seller knocked on the door of the palace and enticed the beautiful princess to buy some of his beads.

‘They are wonderful beads, my princess, and you would do well to buy them from me.’

‘But I have no coins with which to buy them,’ the princess replied.

The crafty old bead seller said that he would be willing to trade his wares for something within the palace: ‘I hear that you have a dusty old seal which you keep in a room in the palace. Surely that is of no use to you. I will take the seal in exchange for all of my beads.’

Not knowing any better, the princess handed over the magic seal to the crafty old bead seller. He quickly disappeared, heading across the lake towards his home in the dark forest somewhere on the other side.
As soon as the seal had gone, the palace disappeared into thin air. The princess and the mother were left standing in the cold. When the Emperor saw that the palace had disappeared, he reclaimed his daughter and promised that she would not be with her new husband if he could not look after her.

When Keloğlan returned home that day, he was upset to find his mother alone, his palace vanished and his beautiful wife returned to her father. He did not know how to find the magic seal and was sure that his new life was over forever. The cat stepped up to the boy and said to him: ‘I can find the seal but I cannot swim across the lake.’ Then the dog stepped forward and said to the cat: ‘I can swim across the lake with you on my back. Together, we will find the magic seal.’ So the faithful cat and dog set off on their journey to recapture the magic seal from the crafty bead seller. When they reached the river, the cat climbed up onto the dog’s back. The dog swam across to the opposite bank. Once they were across, the cat began sniffing at the air and followed the scent of the bead seller through the forest, with the dog close behind.

It did not take long to find the cottage where the bead seller lived, and they could see through the window that the old man was fast asleep in his chair before the fire.

‘I will catch us a mouse,’ said the cat, ‘while you find us some peppercorns and grind them up with your strong paws.’ The cat caught a little mouse and told it to sneak into the cottage and take the seal from under the tongue of the crafty bead seller. The dog sprinkled the ground peppercorns onto the mouse’s tail. The little mouse scurried into the cottage and climbed up the bead seller’s leg as he slept soundly by the fire. When the mouse wiggled its tail, the peppercorn dust went straight up the old man’s nose and made him sneeze. It was then that the magic seal flew out into the air and the mouse caught it in his tiny paws! The little mouse ran from the cottage and returned the magic seal to the cat and the dog who quickly made their way back through the forest towards the river. Once again, the cat climbed up onto the dog’s back and the brave dog swam across the great river. The faithful cat and dog returned the seal to their master and the palace reappeared in a blinding flash of light. Upon seeing the palace returned, the Emperor agreed that his daughter might once more live with Keloğlan. After all, the Emperor could tell that his daughter was very much in love. Keloğlan decided to throw a huge party to celebrate the return of his beautiful wife. The whole village was invited and so began a feast that lasted for forty days and forty nights. The mother and the Emperor agreed that a cat and a dog could accomplish a great deal if they were faithful to their master. Keloğlan smiled because he had learned that friends always help each other when they can, and there is magic in such friendship. Perhaps even more so than in the magic seal.

KÖREBE OYUNUNUN İNGİLİZCE TÜRKÇE ANLATIMI

KÖREBE OYUNUNUN İNGİLİZCE TÜRKÇE  ANLATIMI

Blind man’s buff or blind man’s bluff is a children’s game, a variant of tag. The traditional name of the game is “blind man’s buff”, wherein the word buff is used in its older sense of a small push. The game later also became known as “blind man’s bluff”; it is possible that this name is a linguistic corruption, or it may originate from an older sense of bluff meaning to blindfold.
Blind man’s buff is played in a spacious area, such as outdoors or in a large room, in which one player, designated as “It”, is blindfolded and gropes around attempting to touch the other players without being able to see them, while the other players scatter and try to avoid the person who is “it”, hiding in plain sight and sometimes teasing them to make them change direction.
Blind man’s buff is ideally played in an area free of dangerous obstructions so that the “It” player will not suffer injury from tripping over or hitting something.

Architect (Mimar):
Architects design houses and buildings. They plan offices and apartments. They design schools, churches, and airport terminals. Their plans involve far more than a building’s looks. They must ensure that buildings are safe and strong and that they suit the needs of the people who use them.
The architect and client first discuss what the client wants. The architect sometimes helps decide if a project would work at all or if it would harm the environment. The architect then creates drawings for the client to review. They may be involved in all stages of the construction of a building.
If the ideas are OK, the architect draws up the final plans. These plans show how the building will look and how to build it. The drawings show the beams that hold up the building. They show the air-conditioner, furnace, and ventilating systems. The drawings show how the electricity and plumbing work. Architects used to use pencil and paper to draw their plan, but today most architects use computers. Architects generally work in comfortable conditions because they spend most of their time in offices. However, they spend some time at building sites to see how projects are going.
Architects may feel stressed sometimes. Most architects work 40 hours a week, but they may need to work nights and weekends in order to meet deadlines.

Mimar (Mimar):

Mimarlar bazen stresli hissedebilirler.

Kusadasi, which means "bird island", is set in a superb gulf in the Aegean region of Turkey and is known for its turquoise sparkling water of the Sea , broad sandy beaches, bright sun and large marina with a capacity for 600 boats. A glorious ancient city stands beside it, Ephesus with hundreds of thousands of visitors from tours each year. The town is not far from Adnan Menderes Airport, Izmir (only 80 kilometers or 50 miles). Numerous holiday villages and hotels line its shores and hundreds of restaurants serves food from all around the world and, of course, Turkish Cuisine , which is one of the largest cuisines of the world. There are also many hostels , discos, bars, cafes, pubs and "Turkish Nights"; all those to cater holiday-makers.
Kusadasi has retained a certain earthiness to it and inexpensive meals and pensions can still be found in town. Many shops do a brisk trade with passengers from hundreds of cruise ships that dock for a day or two, allowing enough time for a trip to Ephesus and a shopping expedition.
The tiny Güvercin Adasi (Pigeon Island) is connected to the mainland with a causeway. Its romantic setting includes a well-maintained flower garden which surrounds the restored 14th or 15th century fortress housing a restaurant and disco frequented by lovers or those hoping to find one by the night's end.
Beaches close to town tend to get quite crowded during summer. If you prefer more serenity, head for Dilek Peninsula National Park , known locally as Milli Park about 28 km (17 miles) from Kusadasi.
It is also possible to get to Greek island Samos by regular daily ferries.
Lately, many foreigners have bought (and continue to buy) property in and around Kusadasi for their holidays or for the retirement. It became a popular area especially for the British and Irish nationals.

History Around 2000 BC. people coming from Lelek, Caria and Lydia had settled down as a society to the slopes of Pilav Mountain. Later one by one with the unit settlements Pigale , Maratheson, Neopolis and Panionion came to life; Ionians and later Romans by Ephesus coming into the dominance of Rome, had lived in these lands.
Today's Kusadasi is founded in 16th century by Venetians as a colony. The castle on the small island was built for the purpose of observation in Byzantine times. In the Middle Ages Kusadasi was ruled by Venetians and Genoese which had taken the name of Scala Nova.
The city was surrounded with castle walls for being protected from the violence of pirates, very common in the Mediterranean those centuries. It's known that there is an Ionian Region of Kusadasi. This had taken an important harbor mission on Asia - Europe trade road for many years.
In the period of Scala Nova, the Armenians dominant to trade, Greeks and Jews had joined to former nations. With the Manzikert (Malazgirt) War in 1071 Seljuk Turks had started to spread in Anatolia and during the process of Turkish principalities formation, in 1304 Sasa Bey had been the authority of Kusadasi and surroundings. Mehmet Bey had connected this vicinity to Aydinogullari after Sasa's death .
Kusadasi is a harbor town and Turks had kept this in mind. Although they were nomads from central Asia and far away from maritime business, they had learnt maritime as well as the Ephesians in a short time. They had lived comfortably with the spoils they caught at naval battles.Kilic Arslan added this town to Selcuk government and Scala Nova again had become the exportation gate of Anatolia in 1186. The Ottoman sultan Yildirim Beyazit had joined Ayasulug (in Selcuk town) to his principalities and the city became Ottoman in 1390. Tamerlane (Timurlenk) decided to take whole of Anatolia under his sovereign, but when he could not take Ayasulug he put the castle on fire in which Ottoman soldiers resisted, and St. Jean's Church was damaged very badly. With Çelebi Mehmet I Kusadasi had gathered to the Ottoman Empire and became a district.
With the vicinities passing to Ottomans , Turks entered into societies in these areas. At the end of 1st World War Ottoman Government had overcome, so Kusadasi was given to Italians with a treaty , and under their rule, the town was filled with Turks , Greeks, Jews , Armenians . Most of those minorities left the country on 7th September 1923 after the victory of War of Independence led by Atatürk . Lands between Güzelcamli and Selcuk, the estates of Greeks which went back during the agreement to exchange minorities between Greece and Turkey , were given to Turkish immigrants in return to their properties there; the same was done by the Greek government. This migration was between 1941 and 1955.
Kusadasi is living parallel to Ephesus in history and the settlements around it. The places that have historical and tourist values are:
Panionian Agora, Roman Bath, Ilica Hill, Scala Nova, Pygale , Kadi Castle, Andiz Tower, Neopolis, Aquaducts, Ania, Melia, Kursunlu Monastery, Öküz Mehmet Pasha Caravanserai , The Castle on Pigeon Island, Ramparts surrounding the City, Kusadasi Houses, Kaleici, Mosques , Turkish Bath , Yacht Harbor and Dilek National Park .

BALIKLAR HAKKINDA İNGİLİZCE MAKALE

BALIKLAR HAKKINDA İNGİLİZCE MAKALE

A fish is any gill-bearing aquatic vertebrate (or craniate) animal that lacks limbs with digits. Included in this definition are the living hagfish, lampreys, and cartilaginous and bony fish, as well as various extinct related groups. Because the term is defined negatively, and excludes the tetrapods (i.e., the amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals) which descend from within the same ancestry, it is paraphyletic. The traditional term pisces (also ichthyes) is considered a typological, but not a phylogenetic classification.
Most fish are “cold-blooded”, or ectothermic, allowing their body temperatures to vary as ambient temperatures change. Fish are abundant in most bodies of water. They can be found in nearly all aquatic environments, from high mountain streams (e.g., char and gudgeon) to the abyssal and even hadal depths of the deepest oceans (e.g., gulpers and anglerfish). At 32,000 species, fish exhibit greater species diversity than any other class of vertebrates.
Fish, especially as food, are an important resource worldwide. Commercial and subsistence fishers hunt fish in wild fisheries (see fishing) or farm them in ponds or in cages in the ocean (see aquaculture). They are also caught by recreational fishers, kept as pets, raised by fishkeepers, and exhibited in public aquaria. Fish have had a role in culture through the ages, serving as deities, religious symbols, and as the subjects of art, books and movies

LEYLEK VE TİLKİ MASALI İNGİLİZCE KISA

LEYLEK VE TİLKİ MASALİ İNGİLİZCE
 THE FOX AND THE STOR

The Fox one day thought of a plan to amuse himself at the expense of the Stork, at whose odd appearance he was always laughing.
“You must come and dine with me today,” he said to the Stork, smiling to himself at the trick he was going to play. The Stork gladly accepted the invitation and arrived in good time and with a very good appetite.
For dinner the Fox served soup. But it was set out in a very shallow dish, and all the Stork could do was to wet the very tip of his bill. Not a drop of soup could he get. But the Fox lapped it up easily, and, to increase the disappointment of the Stork, made a great show of enjoyment.
The hungry Stork was much displeased at the trick, but he was a calm, even-tempered fellow and saw no good in flying into a rage. Instead, not long afterward, he invited the Fox to dine with him in turn. The Fox arrived promptly at the time that had been set, and the Stork served a fish dinner that had a very appetizing smell. But it was served in a tall jar with a very narrow neck. The Stork could easily get at the food with his long bill, but all the Fox could do was to lick the outside of the jar, and sniff at the delicious odor. And when the Fox lost his temper, the Stork said calmly:
Do not play tricks on your neighbors unless you can stand the same treatment yourself.

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea

DENİZLER ALTINDA YİRMİ BİN FERSAH İNGİLİZCE KİTAP ÖZETİ

An eccentric French scientist, his friend and a jovial Canadian sailor are accidentally taken captive by Captain Nemo, a mad scientist in his amazing surmarine, the Nautilus. Placed under arrest by Nemo, the three companions learn to enjoy their new home, and with Nemo they explore the seven seas, travelling to barbarian lands, the lost city of Atlantis, and even fight an enormous squid-like monster. ” Daniel, Resident Scholar “Mysterious things are happening in the sea. Ships are being sent out; however, they are sunk by someone… or maybe something… Monsieur Arronax, a scientist is invited, along with his trusty servant Conseil, on a ship known as the Abraham Lincoln, to seek out the cause of the recent ship wrecks. After a few months out into open water, they are attacked, by something that looks like a monster. After a long chase in the water, an event throws the worthy scientist off the ship, along with Conseil, and a Canadian fisherman, Ned Land. Eventually they get close to the so called monster, which eventually turns out to be a modern, as well as highly technological submarine, titled the Nautilus. Captain Nemo, commander of the Sub, allows the trio to stay on the ship, however, they are not permitted to leave. Now begins an extraordinary voyage under the sea, as Arronax, who is guided by Captain Nemo discovers the fascinating wonders of the sea. Arronax, as well as Conseil, is fascinated by what he sees around himself. But the Canadian fisherman is losing his patience by the day. Despite the amazing specimens, scientific facts, not to be found in nearly a hundred years by man, fantastic locales and the captain’s generosity, Ned still wants to escape. Arronax decides that if a worthy opportunity presents itself, then they will not hesitate to leave. Although he has given his word, Arronax does not wish to anger the captain, for his generosity is much too great for that matter. The submarine starts in regular waters, continues in a boiling soup, travels through Atlantis, volcanoes, giant sea monsters, and there is more where that came from. All of this is packed tight into a 300 page sci-fi thriller! ” Walid Khalid, Resident Scholar “The story basically begins with the very intelligent Professor Arronax calculating basic measurements. He’s a modern french biologist during this time period. The professor had somewhat of an understudy, an apprentice if you will, named Conseil. Conseil was just about as skilled as the professor as far as classification, and knowing so much information about just about everything. One day, the professor got a letter that invited him to go on a select trip to hunt the killer narwhal. Mysteriously, several ships had been rammed, and had a triangular shaped scar on the spot where the uncanny shipmates had decided that the narwhal hit. So Professor Arronax and Conseil went to examine the accidents. They get on the ship and meet a Canadian harpooner named Ned Land. He told them that he was the best at what he does, and that he was ready to take out the narwhal. After a while, they come across the infamous narwhal. They find it strange that the narwhal is about three times as long as the ship they’re on, and that it glows. The professor’s ship is attacked, and they are stranded in the ocean, they climb aboard the narwahal to find out that it is in actuality a submarine. They finally meet a strange man named Captain Nemo, who explains to them that it is his ship and that the professor, Conseil, and Ned Land can stay as long as they go with him on a trip around the world in his submarine, the Nautilus. They begin to go on amazing trips.” Emmanuel Hayes, Resident Scholar
