General characteristics of Virgo
Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac.
Pisces is it’s opposite and complementary sign. It is a mutable or moving feminine sign that belongs to the element of Earth. It is ruled by the planet Mercury and up until 1970 it was believed to be ruled by a nonexistent volcanic planet. Virgo’s symbol is a virgin, identified with various goddesses such as Astraea and Demeter and has also been compared to the Virgin Mary. In Greek mythology the constellation of Virgo is a representation of Dice or Brenda a titan, daughter of Zeus and Themis and goddess of justice for all human beings; one that was born mortal and was placed on earth to administer justice and order.
Those born under the sign of Virgo tend to be discrete, kind and fun with other people and they can also help to resolve problems of others with great ability and reasonableness. They are courageous and have a high spirituality; they trust in their intuition, are charming and have dignity. They are methodical, smart, shy, and very studious and like logic.
